Terms of Service

Terms of Service

Plain English. What you are buying, what I promise, and what I do not.

Last updated: October 6, 2026. Version 2026-10-06.

The short version: The Signal is an independent, AI-assisted and human-reviewed assessment of your idea. It is information to help you decide, not a guarantee and not legal, financial, or investment advice. Your idea stays yours and stays confidential. If the analysis falls short, I revise it once, and if you are still not satisfied, I refund you in full within 14 days of delivery.

1. Who you are dealing with

The Signal is sold by Every Big Idea, a DBA of Synaptic Expansion Labs LLC, a Texas limited liability company ("Every Big Idea," "I," "me"), 5900 Balcones Drive, Ste 100, Austin, TX 78731, marty@everybigidea.com. When these terms say "you," they mean the person or business buying The Signal.

2. Accepting these terms

You accept these terms when you tick the box at checkout or on the idea form, or when you submit your idea. You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding contract. If you buy for a business, you confirm you are allowed to accept these terms for it. The Signal is offered from the United States and is intended for customers in the United States.

3. What The Signal is

The Signal is a written assessment of one idea: scores across 10 dimensions, research on the market, buyers and competitors, preliminary ownability and social-handle checks, the main risks, ways to make money, and a 30-day plan. I designed the method and the rubric; advanced AI runs the research and drafts the report; and I review every Signal and approve its verdict before it is delivered.

The Signal is independent analysis and opinion. It is not a guarantee of any business result, and it is not legal, financial, tax, or investment advice. Scores describe how your idea compares against published research on why new businesses succeed or fail; a score is not a probability. The decisions you make are your own.

4. Ownability, demand and handle checks

The patent, trademark, and domain checks use public tools and are preliminary, informational searches to flag obvious conflicts. They are not legal patent or trademark searches, a freedom-to-operate or infringement opinion, or clearance. Domain and social-handle availability is a point-in-time look and can change at any moment. Demand evidence comes from public sources and is indicative, not a guarantee. Before you file, build, or invest, verify independently and consult a licensed professional, such as a registered patent attorney.

5. Ordering, price and delivery

6. The Signal + Call

The Signal + Call includes one 45-minute video call with me, booked after you have had time to read your Signal. If you cannot make the time you booked, tell me at least 24 hours ahead and we will reschedule once. Calls are not recorded unless we both agree at the start of the call.

7. Your idea stays yours

8. Who owns the Signal report

Once delivered, your copy of the Signal is yours to use, keep, print, and share with anyone you choose, including investors, partners, and advisors. Every Big Idea keeps all rights in its methods, rubric, templates, scoring system, site content, and brand. You may not resell The Signal or use it to build a competing assessment service.

9. What I will not assess

The Signal is for lawful business ideas. I do not evaluate anything built to harm people, illegal weapons, or hatred toward or incitement against any group. If I decline an idea, I refund you in full.

10. The guarantee and refunds

11. Reviews

After delivery I ask every customer for an honest review, good or bad. A review is never required in exchange for a Signal. I publish reviews whether they are positive or negative, and remove only profanity, hate speech, off-topic content, or private information. Reviews from people who received a complimentary Signal are labeled as such. A review is shown publicly only with your permission, and you can ask me to remove yours at any time.

12. No other warranties

Except for the guarantee above, The Signal is provided "as is." To the fullest extent the law allows, I make no other warranties, express or implied, including any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of third-party data, or that any idea will succeed.

13. Limitation of liability

I act as an independent analyst, not as your agent, partner, broker, advisor, or fiduciary. To the fullest extent the law allows, Every Big Idea and Marty McCrea are not liable for decisions you make based on The Signal, or for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including lost profits or lost opportunities. Total liability for any claim connected to The Signal is limited to the amount you paid for it. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under consumer protection law that cannot be waived.

14. Your submissions

You are responsible for the ideas and materials you submit. If someone brings a claim against Every Big Idea because something you submitted infringed their rights or broke the law, you agree to cover the reasonable costs of that claim.

15. Things outside my control

Delivery dates can move if events outside my reasonable control (for example, outages of my providers, illness, or natural disasters) prevent on-time delivery. I will tell you as soon as I can. If a delay runs more than 10 business days past the promised date, you may cancel for a full refund.

16. Governing law and disputes

If something goes wrong, email me first; most problems are solved in a reply. If we cannot resolve it within 30 days, these terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, and any dispute will be decided in the state or federal courts located in Travis County, Texas, except that either of us may bring a qualifying claim in small claims court.
