Who this is

What I collect
- What you send on the intake form: your name and email, the country you are based in, your idea and its description, who it's for, the problem it solves, your stage, how it would make money, why you are the right person to build it, the resources you have, what success means to you, your main fear or doubt, which package you want, whether you're open to a warm introduction, and when you accepted the Terms.
- If you join the membership waitlist or request the free scorecard results: your name and/or email address, used only to contact you about that.
- Payment information: handled entirely by Stripe. I never see or store your full card number. I receive confirmation that you paid and basic order details.
- Basic usage analytics: aggregate website statistics from Cloudflare Web Analytics (pages viewed, general location, device type), plus my own daily counts of a few site steps (for example, how many visitors reached pricing or finished the free scorecard). Neither uses cookies or stores anything that identifies you. No advertising or cross-site trackers.
- Anything you send me by email in the course of ordering or getting your Signal.
How I use it
- To produce and deliver your Signal.
- To contact you about your order, deliver your report, and follow up (including asking for a review, which you're free to ignore).
- To take payment through Stripe.
- To improve The Signal and write general guides, using only anonymized, combined patterns across many Signals that cannot identify you or your idea.
- If, and only if, you opt in to introductions: to note the non-identifying tags of your idea (industry, stage, what you need next) so I can spot a possible complementary match. Your actual idea is never disclosed, and no introduction happens without your explicit yes.
Your idea stays yours
Anything you submit is confidential and is used only to produce your Signal. It is never posted publicly or sold, and it is shared only with the service providers listed below, under their own confidentiality and security terms. It is not reused for any other purpose, except that I may draw anonymized, combined insights from many Signals (for example, which kinds of ideas tend to struggle on pricing) to improve The Signal and to write general guides. Those insights never identify you or your idea. You keep all rights to your idea and your materials. This confidentiality is the core promise of the business, not a footnote.
How AI is used
The Signal uses advanced AI to research and analyze your idea and to draft your report. A person reviews every Signal before it ships, and I approve the final verdict on each one.
Your idea and everything you submit are never used to train AI models: model training is switched off on the AI account that produces Signals, and I never send feedback on customer work to the AI provider. The AI provider processes your submission only to produce your Signal. (As with most AI providers, content its safety systems flag for misuse may be reviewed and used to improve those safety systems.)
Reviews and testimonials
If you leave a review, I will only display it publicly (with your name or first name and a quote) if you give explicit permission when you submit it. Your review never reveals your idea unless you choose to describe it yourself. You can ask me to remove a published review at any time. I publish reviews whether they are positive or negative, and remove only profanity, hate speech, off-topic content, or private information. If you received your Signal free, your review is labeled "Received a complimentary Signal."
Who I share data with
I don't sell your data, ever. I share it only with the service providers that make the business run, and only to the extent they need it:
- Stripe for payment processing.
- Airtable, where your order and idea are stored securely while your Signal is produced and delivered.
- Google Workspace (Gmail and file storage), used to email you and to prepare and deliver your Signal.
- Cloudflare, which hosts the site, runs the system that receives your order form, and provides cookie-free, aggregate website analytics.
- MailerLite, the email service for the free scorecard results and guide. If you buy a Signal, your email address is also sent to MailerLite once, only to mark you as unsubscribed so you stop receiving those marketing emails. MailerLite stores this data in the European Union.
- Anthropic (Claude), the advanced AI used to research and analyze your idea and draft your Signal. Your data is not used to train its models.
- Cal.com, only if you buy The Signal + Call: your name, email, and the short name of your idea are passed to the booking page so I can prepare for your call.
- Public search and research tools. To research your idea, short search terms (for example a proposed brand name or a product category) are sent to public search engines and to public patent, trademark, and domain databases such as the USPTO. Your full submission is not sent to them, and a search is not a publication of your idea.
I may also disclose information if required by law. That's the only exception to the above.
How long I keep it
I keep your submission and Signal for up to 3 years after delivery, so I can honor the guarantee, run the 6 and 12-month follow-ups, and, if you opted in, support the introductions feature. After that, I delete it or strip out anything that identifies you. Basic order and payment records are kept as long as tax law requires. You can ask me to delete your personal data sooner (see below), and I will, except for the minimal records I'm legally required to keep.
Your choices and rights
- Access or correction: ask me what I hold about you, or to fix it.
- Deletion: ask me to delete your data and I will, subject to legal record-keeping.
- Opt out of introductions: withdraw your introduction opt-in at any time.
- Opt out of follow-ups: tell me to stop emailing you and I will.

Cookies and Do Not Track
This site does not use cookies for analytics or advertising, and no third party tracks you across other websites through it. If you join the membership waitlist, your browser may remember your email locally so the form can tell you that you are already on the list; you can clear it at any time in your browser settings. Because the site does not track visitors, it does not change its behavior in response to browser "Do Not Track" signals.
Security
The site is served only over HTTPS (TLS 1.2 or newer, with HSTS), payments run through Stripe's secure, Stripe-hosted checkout so your card details never reach my systems, and I limit access to your submission to what's needed to produce your Signal. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure, but I treat your idea with the care the promise requires. More detail is on the Security page.
Where your data is handled
Every Big Idea is based in the United States and the service is intended for customers in the United States. Your information is stored in the United States by me and the providers listed above, with one exception: MailerLite stores email-marketing data in the European Union. Some providers may briefly process data outside the United States while delivering their service (for example, Cloudflare's global network routes web traffic through its nearest data center). If you use the service from outside the United States, you understand your information will be handled under US law.
Children
This service is intended for adults and is not directed to anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, I'll update the date at the top. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
